creation story image

The large-scale war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine is one of the reasons for the increase in the number of people in need of psychological help and rehabilitation

creation story image

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 10 million Ukrainians are at risk of developing mental illnesses as a result of Russian armed aggression (based on Dr. Jarno Habicht's briefing in Geneva, 2022). Thus, one in every four Ukrainians requires professional psychological assistance

Date: February 24, 2022 Morning.
Rockets. Explosions rock Hostomel airport. Landing troops. Russian military convoys are seen moving towards Kyiv. En route to Bucha, Irpin... In response to the escalating situation, the Rudenko family establishes a humanitarian headquarters at the Terasa cafe. Serhii Rudenko rallies his friends, forming a team to set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Irpin. Their mission is to safeguard the city, which has become one of the last defense lines before the capital. Lyudmila Rudenko, Serhiy's wife, joins the effort to assist the local residents. At Gostomelske shosse 1, provisions and medicines are being distributed, while bread is baked on-site. A bonfire is set up to provide hot meals and tea for the city's defenders. In the spring of 2022, the city became a battleground with deadly clashes involving tanks, aircraft, ammunition, bombs, and relentless shelling. Despite the escalating danger, Lyudmila remained steadfast in her commitment to assist the locals, standing with them until the very end. Tragically, the building where she provided help became a target, hit by shells and engulfed in flames, leading to an urgent evacuation. After the city's liberation, the devastating aftermath became painfully evident as almost everything lay in ruins, necessitating a complete restart. The peaceful region now bore witness to the harrowing consequences of war crimes. Injured civilians and military personnel were in dire need of psychological support. Humanitarian aid efforts were actively underway. It was during this time that Lyudmila's charitable endeavors took a definitive shape as she founded the Charitable Organisation "Resilient Nation". Its primary mission was to provide unwavering support and restore psychological stability to all those who had been shattered by the horrors of war. Sadly, the war goes on, signifying that there is much work left to be accomplished..
